It will be hosted until 12 June 2016 in Rome, in the amazing Terme di Diocleziano, the extraordinary exhibition “In acqua. H₂O molecole di creatività”, conceived by Stefano Dominella and Bonizza Giordani Aragno, that tells how this essential natural element is so crucial to our lives and the planet and inspired art, photography and fashion.
Water is the symbol of life and has been the subject of representation in all forms of art, including fashion. But the water, stormy, powerful and unstoppable is also unfortunately synonymous with death: to this force of nature is inspired the sublime sculptured dress designed by Guillermo Mariotto Gattinoni and entitled “Foco a ‘mare”, a true couture manifest against the human tragedy of the emigrants. Among the 91 creations on show, here's Giorgio Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo, Valentino, Gianfranco Ferrè, Laura Biagiotti, Ermanno Scervino, Roberto Cavalli, Enrico Coveri, Chiara Boni, Max Mara, Pino Lancetti, Antonio Marras, Romeo Gigli, Ken Scott, Krizia and many international special guests like Maurizio Galante, Issey Miyake, Martin Margiela, Junya Watanabe e Adeline André, in addition to new fashion talents like Tiziano Guardini, Italo Marseglia, Alessandro Consiglio e Santo Costanzo. Absolutely remarkable the section dedicated to the birth of the Italian Haute Couture represented by Fernanda Gattinoni, Irene Galitzine, Jole Veneziani, André Laug and Battilocchi as well as the creations related to the theme of water, from swimwear by Laura Urbinati to the “save water” dresses by Burberry, K-Way and Carta e Costura until the colored creations of Stone Island, realized with the lastest generation fabrics Last but not least the equipment and uniforms of the Italian Navy, from surface-supplied diver to scuba diver, from the uniform of Admiral to the ones of seaman.
