The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York presents Force of Nature (until November 18, 2017), a unique exhibition that explores how the beauty and complexity of nature have inspired fashion designers for centuries. More than a survey of decorative flora and fauna, this exhibition reveals the natural world as a source of ideas and symbolism in fashion design. Over 95 objects are presented in a manner that demonstrates the deep interconnectedness between fashion and the natural sciences, spanning the 18th century to the present.Thus, animal, plants, oceans, sky, heart and all that nature itself can trigger as unstoppable power as lightning, hurricanes, earthquakes ... Nature is beautiful, but it's also the most terrible destructive force that exists and against which the man, with all its technology, it can't do anything.
