For the spring-summer season 2021, the Andalusian designer brings the iconic Spanish singers (Lola Flores, Rocio Jurado, Imperio Argentina) to time of the ‘destape’ or unveiling cinema (*), as a continuation of the inspiration of these Spanish artists that he presented to us last March in Paris. As a novelty, in this collection, Leandro Cano introduces for the first time male clothes within his proposal.
With SIEMPRE A TU VERA, Leandro Cano closes this artistic collection divided in two seasons about these great women who have been inspiration and pioneers of the advancement of women in society. Moreover, as the name of the collection indicates (SIEMPRE A TU VERA/ALWAYS AT YOUR SIDE), in the turbulent times we are living, means that we keep on working and fighting with the same illusion as always.
As we mentioned in the previous collection, the Spanish artist women of the 70’ were a turning point in the sexually repressed Spain of macho times.
They, with their great personalities, provided a voice for other dissatisfied women, submissive to their marriages and a society in which the role of women was very limited.
Thanks to them, and through their music, the woman was no longer just the one in love, or the one who waited, not just the one who cried and never chose (**)
It’s been a while i dont feel anything
when i do it with you,
my body doesnt tremble of desire
when i see you turnen on
and your face, your chest and your hands
look like frost. (***)
Leandro Cano introduces this powerful message in his collection SIEMPRE A TU VERA, in which the liberation, passion and strength of these women has served as inspiration for the video with which he presents his latest collection.
In addition, the designer having reached sufficient maturity has included men's garments. A man who has wanted to appear masculine and without prejudice of roles, sure of himself and ready to be overwhelmed by the force of these women.
