Milano fashion week, Arvid Yuki Shy s/s 2018 collection

The Spring Summer 2018 Collection draws on multiple sources of inspiration, originating from various parts of the world, though always exotic: Indian Nappa leather, tropical fabrics and precious skins like Ayers and python, which, for the first time, are used to embellish the models, creating a game of light and colour.

Black and white ribbons are used throughout the collection, in order to distinguish and enhance it. They contrast with the bright colours of the uppers and oversized buckles, which are applied to all the structures to define a story and a guiding thread that has always characterised the brand. The ribbons are used as little straps, or inserted in the uppers or in the laces at the ankle. The disk accessory, which has become the designer’s signature, can be found in the sandals, sneakers and slippers, either dressed in leather or left “bare” in nickel. The colour palette is willingly optical and summer-inspired: gold, steel, bronze and white contrast with greens, yellows and reds. Natural colours are also present, such as beige, basil green and blue.

For the dressy series, 4 structures are proposed: the indispensable ballerina with sacchetto construction, which for the first time, is presented as a mule; the sandal with thick 60 mm heel, also proposed as an open-toe mule, which is rendered youthful and aggressive thanks to a large flap and buckles, rivets and ribbons; a new high-heeled sandal with a plateau, conceived also for evening with darker colours like blacks and blues; lastly, the Western boots from the Winter Collection are carried over, adapted to summer via its thinner sole and by the use of luminous colours such as gold, white, beige and silver. The sneakers series is represented by slip-ons and wedged slippers, in which we rediscover the accessories, ribbons and buckles from the dressy series. The slipper is rendered more aggressive by its double wedge, the first in rubber and the second covered in fabric or suede.
